demokratinė taika statusas T sritis Politika apibrėžtis Liberali tarptautinio nesaugumo problemos sprendimo koncepcija, teigianti, kad tarpvalstybinės taikos ir saugumo šaltinis yra demokratija. Koncepcija remiasi prielaida, kad demokratinės valstybės vengia naudoti jėgą kitų demokratinių valstybių atžvilgiu. Taip yra todėl, kad svarbiausi demokratinio valdymo principai – atstovavimas piliečių interesams, pagarba žmogaus ir piliečio teisėms, pakantumas mažumoms ir jų teisių apsauga – sunkiai suderinami su jėgos naudojimu ir agresyvia užsienio politika. Demokratija skatina nenaudoti jėgos, derinti konfliktuojančius interesus ir ieškoti kompromisų. Koncepcijos šalininkai ragina demokratinių valstybių vadovus ir politikus siekti demokratijos plėtros ir jos įtvirtinimo kuo didesniame skaičiuje valstybių. Daugelis demokratinių valstybių, vykdydamos užsienio politiką, iš dalies vadovaujasi šios teorijos nuostatomis ir jas taiko. Koncepcijos autorystė priskiriama vokiečių filosofui I. Kantui, šią problemą nagrinėjusiam traktate Į amžinąją taiką (1795) ir priėjusiam išvadą, kad taikos užtikrinimo pamatus reikia kloti pačiose valstybėse. atitikmenys: angl. democratic peace
